how did I hide digital editions and Microsoft User Data

| | | | | | | |

I am attempting to recreate all of the little customizations that I have layered onto my MBP.

In the Documents folder, I had removed the unwelcome ‘Microsoft User Data’ and Digital Editions folders from the finder by hiding them…

Or, more accurately, in the case of the MUD folder; moved the folder to ~/Library/ and created an alias to the original.

However, the method I used to hide the alias has eluded me.

I just tried one app, ‘hide_folders.dmg,’ with no success. I could sucessfully hide the file/folder in question, but attempts to launch any MS Office app would recreate the folder in ~/Documents every time.

So the solution is:

Launch Terminal

Change directory to Documents

Documents smith$ chflags hidden Filed\ Documents

Or, if you have devtools installed, use setfile…

setfile -a "V" ~/Documents/e-on\ software   bookmark tuals 0.1 on
