Just finishing up here in Singapore. It was a very successfull trip. I was able to finish everything that I came here to do. I was also able to see a lot of stuff. They have a favorite fruit here called Durian. I found out about it from the hotel. There was a sign that said, "No Durians Allowed!" At first I thought it was some sort of animal or something, so I thought "No monkey's allowed". I can understand that, but when I found out it was a fruit I knew I had to try one. The reason it is a banned substance in hotels is that it has a very distinct fragrance. Some people say it stinks, but to me it doesn't stink at all! Very good. I tried one at a fruit stand. They have Durian ice cream and Durian bubble tea, all very good. So what I want to know is why Durian's are banned, but very stinky perfumes are totally OK. I haven't heard of anyone allergic to Durians, but lots of people are alergic to perfume. Ah, the many contradictions of our society.

The food here is great. I have tried to taste everything. They have food courts everywhere with all sorts of dishes. I tried the Katong Laksa. I have no idea what it was, but it was very spicey and it's supposed to be a regional dish. That's the big problem, I have no idea what it is until I try it. When I ordered the Katong Laksa, I was thinking that I was going to get a Katong Lassi, which is an indian yogourt drink, well it turned out to be a very fishy tasting soup with noodles and an amazing broth.

Singapore air is by far the best airline that I have ever flown in my life. After the 18 hour flight, I didn't want to get off. They give you a menu and everything. They come by every hour to ask you if you want anything to drink. They have movies on demand and they have a great Indian radio station. Complete opposite of my experience with Pakistan air, boy that was a long trip!

I'll be in Vancouver on Saturday to visit friends and family and then back to Edmonton on Monday to go back to work.
